A Story That Gave Meaning to My Name

I had just returned from living in Mexico for a year and felt immensely happy to be back in our home in Buenos Aires. Two of our three children were born there, we had great friends, and a life built with love and effort.

Happiness surrounded us: we had renovated our home, the kids were happy at school, my husband was enjoying his new job, and I felt a deep need to give back to the world a bit of that joy—grateful to God for having answered my prayers.
One day, I shared this feeling with my confessor, Father Mario, at the Don Bosco Church. He suggested I visit the elderly and ill priests living in the house next door. And so began a very special chapter in my life.
That’s where I met Father Juan José Sol, a priest who suffered from hemiplegia and had difficulty speaking and moving. Despite everything, we found a way to communicate. Our friendship grew, and his companionship became a blessing. Over time, I brought my children, my husband, and my parents to visit him, sharing with him small moments of joy.
One day, I was told that his cousin wanted to meet me. When we met, she told me she was his only close relative, but due to distance and work, she couldn't visit him often. So she would pray to God: “Lord, send him a light.” When she found out that I was visiting him and that my name was Luz (which means Light), she felt that her prayer had been answered.
That moment was profoundly meaningful for both of us. God had entrusted me with a mission without my knowing it—and in truth, the real gift was for me. Father Sol became a great light on my path.
Today, in honor of my dear friend, I want to share my own path with those who seek it: what I’ve learned, what has worked for me, and what continues to guide my life. This is how this space was born: El Camino de Luz (The Path of Light).
If you ever feel unclear, overwhelmed by problems, misunderstood, weighed down by exhaustion, or lacking motivation—I offer you my guidance to help untangle and create your own path.
